$15 million for baby pictures? Say what?!

If I happen to get a baby picture sent to me from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, I think I'll save it. Maybe I can trade it for a yacht, or sell it and take a space flight.

This is a great look at what the rumored money a celebrity magazine is set to pay for the Jolie-Pitt twins photos would buy in real life.

It is a shame that they get this much money for pictures of there babies, when other peoples children are dying from Cancer. Pediatric Cancer research can barely get money and people are paying this much for a silly picture.

I don't think you can see enough of people who contribute not only a large amount of money to charity but also alot of their time. If they want to display their children for millions which will be directed to charity....then i applaud them. they are using the money for good. what a legacy for their children to know that when they were born their parents gave money in their honor to help other children and their parents. this couple should be applauded for all of their efforts. just because they happen to be in the spotlight all of the time should not be held against them. i know many people who do nothing and have the means to make significant contributions. Our world is so jaded that when people try to do good, they are still demonized.

disgusting, i will not buy a magazine nor do i with a couple's baby pics on it. especially when millions of money are given.

some people have to live in the real world where no one makes 15 to 20 million in their lifetime.

It breaks my heart to see wealthy people taking money and life in general for granted. 15 million dollars for baby pictures and the money will be donated to charity, what and whose charity? The last time i've checked, the United States isn't too far from going through another great depression, with the high gas prices, no affordable health care, low paying jobs and the cost of everything going up.

Yes, I do think it's wonderful how the wealthy contribute time and money to charities, but I hope that just one day all of the wealthy people pull together and add the United States to their charity list and help us who are less fortunate. If this was to ever happen, people of all races and nationalities wouldn't be struggling to keep food on our tables, roofs over our heads and clothes on our backs!

Who is it for you to decide how someone wants to spend their charitable contributions? Regardless of the destination of such monies (if indeed it happens), it's totally up to them and no one else.

Have you ever been out of this country or researched what's going on around the world (think globally)? Americans (on occasion myself included) complain about our sad life's; and even in the worse of conditions you could possibly conceive of happening here, it's still paradise compared to other parts of the world. I work and live a pretty ok middle class life and yes there have been impacts with costs of gasoline and food but also I am thankful everyday for work and a roof over my head. It's not always easy though I persevere and move forward.

I agree that it's disheartening sometimes because it does seem we are not focusing on our own countries needs though at the same time we as Americans have the freedom to make our own choices and make something of ourselves. Our country as a whole has big problems but you really can overcome obstacles here, you just have to work at it. Try saying that in some of the countries where help is truly needed. Americans as a whole have it really good compared to the rest of the world.

For those down on their luck, kicking the smoking habit might be a good start to save a few bucks...

This is the figure that really shocked me--at that pricetag we can count on: "About 349 prisoners kept behind bars for one year."

That's sad. It's no wonder our justice system has a revolving door.

Ok, I tried this yesterday, JL, but here it is again--the figure about prisoners is below the one for firefighters in NYC. All in all, sad that 15 million is paid for pictures--when there are so many other good things that kind of money could be used for. And then again, my point--no wonder criminals have a revolving door in our system.

What's the matter with society - that we're that obsessed with a celebrity's baby picture? As far as I'm concerned, most of these "celebrities" don't deserve their celebrity status. They are a bunch of materialistic ego driven pompous no-talent having babies themselves. Hollywood has been so cheapened by the so-called "stars" of today. What ever happened to having some class? Now all you need to become a celebrity is smutty sex video "accidentally released onto the internet..." - It makes me sick. If I could, I'd slap most of these losers silly myself.
